New list spotlights theme-park influencers, including Rohde, Iger, Coup

Orlando Sentinel story by Dewayne Bevil - Contact Reporter

Central Florida attractions are well-represented on the new Blooloop 50 Theme Park Influencers List 2018, including creative and business types from Disney, Universal, Merlin and Orlando-based companies.

The list, devised by a panel of judges selected by attractions-professional website Blooloop in conjunction with Omnico Group, designates a Power 10. Included in that upper echelon are Thierry Coup, senior vice president of Universal Parks & Resorts; Bob Iger, chairman and CEO of Walt Disney Co.; John Jakobsen, chief new openings officer of Merlin Entertainments; Joe Rohde, portfolio creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering; and Nick Varney, CEO of Merlin Entertainments.

Further down the list of the 50 are Mark Fisher, Merlin’s chief development officer and head of Merlin Magic Making; Pam Landwirth, president and CEO of Kissimmee-based Give Kids the World; Cecil Magpuri, president and CEO of Orlando-based Falcon’s Creative Group; Kathy Mangum, senior vice president of Walt Disney Imagineering; Bob Weis, Imagineering’s president and CEO; and John Wood, CEO of Jacksonville-based Sally Corp.

The Blooloop 50 has international flair, including contributors from Canada, Europe, Saudi Arabia, China and Australia.
